“After all, well, moon is a polka dot, sun is a polka dot, and then, the earth where we live is also a polka dot.” Kusama, is on to something. Instead of being hindered by her societal handicaps she taps into that darkness and creates literal pointillism. She feels the ancient, celestial spheres imbedded in our daily life and uses them repeatedly. An exemplar to a theory developed by Oliver Sachs, that our weaknesses can be strengths. On occasion, she has even been rumored to hear the dots as well.
